Apparently Bali Is 87 Years Known As A Surfing Place

Bali became one of the national and international surfing competitions. Behind the big events, the island has a long history in the world of Surfing. The surfing competition has been held in Bali since the 1960s and early 1970s. Bali is known by wave hunters due to the emergence of the film 'Morning of the Earth' and also 'Tubular Swells' which presents local surfing show in action in Uluwatu, surfing paradise in Bali.

Reportedly surfing has been known in Bali long before the race, precisely in the era of the 1930s. Who introduced surfing in Bali at that time was Bob Koke, a photographer from California who decided to move to Bali in 1936, he was mentioned as the first expatriate surfers from Bali.

Do not forget to visit the G-Land website, a complete gallery of surfing!

As quoted from Momentum Travel, Dave Pondan, WSL vice president thinks that Bali is just glimpsed and jolted awareness of surfers of the world after the film 'Tubular Swells' produced in 1975 watched by many world community. So that's when the new world surfers know if there is one more interesting surfing spots other than Australia and Hawaii.
